It only takes a few drinks to become intoxicated, and the results depend upon the drinker's sex, body type, and health. A blood alcohol level of .08% is definitely a DUI. That is the equivalent of a 150 pound person consuming three alcoholic drinks in a one hour period. Blood alcohol levels between .05-.07% are likely to be considered a DUI. That is the equivalent of a 150 pound person consuming two alcoholic drinks in a one hour period.
